Anguilla, a British Overseas Territory in the eastern Caribbean, is renowned for its pristine white-sand beaches and tranquil atmosphere. Situated east of Puerto Rico and directly north of Saint Martin, Anguilla is the most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. 

 

Geographical Overview

Measuring approximately 16 miles (26 km) in length and 3.5 miles (6 km) at its widest point, Anguilla is a flat, low-lying island composed of coral and limestone. Its highest point, Crocus Hill, reaches an elevation of 240 feet (73 meters). The island is surrounded by numerous bays, including Barnes, Little, Rendezvous, Shoal, and Road Bays, each offering unique coastal experiences.

Anguilla is accessible via Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA), which accommodates flights from various Caribbean islands and private jets. Many travelers also reach Anguilla by flying into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in nearby St. Martin/Sint Maarten, followed by a short ferry ride or flight to Anguilla.

• Saint Martin/Sint Maarten: Located approximately 12 miles (19 km) south, this neighboring island offers additional cultural and recreational opportunities. 

• Puerto Rico: Situated about 200 miles (320 km) west of Anguilla, Puerto Rico serves as a major travel hub with connections to the island.
